Summer in Delaware: July-August Events
Summertime is looking extra sweet in Delaware. From sandcastle contests to free concerts and music festivals, there never seems to be a dull moment. Ditch the air conditioning for a little while and go soak up some sunshine at these exciting events.
Historic Lewes Farmers’ Market: Now – September 26
The only thing better than fresh food is fresh food grown locally. Every Saturday from 9am-12pm, Lewes Farmers’ Market offers up the tastiest collection of local food around. Come out and support the community.
Summer Concert Series at Delaware State Parks: July 1 – September 7
Nothing says summer like a free outdoor concert, and Delaware State Parks is providing live music for your enjoyment all summer long. For the performance schedule at your local park, head over to their website.
Nanticoke Riverfest in Seaford: July 10 – 11
If floating down the river in a tube doesn’t sound refreshingly fun, we don’t know what will. Maybe live music, dance performances, a reptile show, and professional jugglers? Either way, you’re not going to want to miss this festival.
Delaware State Fair: July 23 – August 1
No summer is complete without a state fair, and this one in Harrington will not disappoint. That is, unless you consider carnivals, rodeos, parades, helicopter rides, Meghan Trainor, and Little Big Town disappointing. Don’t forget to buy your tickets!
Rehoboth Beach Sandcastle Contest: August 1
Do you consider yourself somewhat of a Michelangelo when it comes to sandcastle building? Show off those sand skills, or simply have some fun at this year’s Sandcastle Contest at Rehoboth Beach. What better excuse to take a beach trip?
